Mount Snow spent $3.5 million in snowmaking technology and equipment during the off season, and it’s already starting to pay off. Mount Snow opened earlier today, offering the only top-to-bottom skiing in New England. By midday, hundreds of skiers and snowboarders had come to the mountain for its earliest opening day in ten years.
The mountain’s nine open trails–many of which you can see right from the large windows here at the Inn–featured two top-to-bottom runs for intermediate and advanced level skiers and snowboarders, a lift-serviced beginner area, and more than 10 terrain park features for freestyle skiers and riders. Overnight temperatures are forecasted to remain cold enough through the weekend to continue making snow and possibly expand terrain in time for the Veteran’s Day holiday on Monday.
If you need a quality room at the base of the mountain AND a convenient place to stay this weekend, or next weekend (or anytime for that matter), send us an email message, give us call or check out our online reservation page.Cold temperatures and the upgraded snowmaking equipment combined to give the resort its earliest opening since November 7, 1998. No other ski resort in Vermont is scheduled to open until the following week.
